An ultracentrifugal analysis of the macromolecular particles of normal and leukemic mouse spleen.

چکیده
As part of a comprehensive program of isolation and comparison of the various nucleoprotein frac tions of normal and leukemic mouse spleen (10, 11), the macromolecular particles of the cyto plasm have been separated by differential centrifugation and studied in the analytical ultracentrifuge. Although these preparations contain large amounts of polydisperse material, there are also several well defined sedimentation boundaries. While the components which they represent are found only in small amounts in preparations made from normal spleen, their concentrations are markedly elevated in preparations from either transplanted or spontaneous leukemic spleen.

Electron Microscope Study of a Cell-Free Induced Leukemia of the Mouse: A Preliminary Report
Preliminary results of an electron microscope study of a leukemia of the mouse transmissible by cell-free filtrates are reported. In twelve out of forty-seven specimens examined, virus-like particles were observed. So far, these particles have not been observed in control, non-leukemic animals. They are located inside the cytoplasm of leukemic cells which infiltrate the spleen or the liver. The...
متن کاملTransplantation and Homing of Mouse Embryonic Stem Cells Treated with Erythropoietin in Spleen and Liver of irradiated mice
Background: The present study was designed to evaluate the homing potential of mouse embryonic stem cells (ESC) treated with erythropoietin (EPO) in hematopoietic organs such as spleen and liver after transplantation using morphological and immuno-histochemical techniques. Methods: Day-four embryoid body (EB)-derived cells were dissociated and re-plated in medium in the presence and absence of ...
متن کاملEffect of daunorubicin drug with and without cimetidine on the nucleated cells of bone marrow of balb/c mouse
Introduction: Hematopoiesis is an on going process mammalian marrow system. A few cells from the nucleated cells of bone marrow are hematopoietic cells which include primary stem cells, precursor cells and progenitor cells. Primary stem cells and progenitor cells are able to produce colonies in culture medium (CFU-C) and irradiated mouse spleen (CFU-S). A hematopoietic cell is alive and act...
متن کاملLight and electron microscope studies of organs and tissues of the New Zealand Black (NZB/BL) strain mice with lymphoid leukemia and autoimmune disease.
Light microscope studies of organs and tissues of 10to 12month-old leukemic NZB/BL strain mice revealed changes characteristic of lymphoid leukemia and autoimmune disease. Electron microscope studies of ultrathin sections of lymph nodes, spleen, liver, bone marrow, thymus gland, kidneys, and lungs of the same leukemic mice demonstrated immature and mature murine leukemia virus particles of the ...
متن کاملInhibition of Growth of Normal Murine Granulocytes
Coculture of equal numbers of C1498 murine acute myelogenous leukemia cells and normal mouse bone marrow cells in diffusion chambers (DC) led to complete suppression of normal granulocyte development within a few days. Suppression of granulopoiesis was not observed with irradiation-killed leukemic cells. Direct interaction between the leukemic and normal cells appears to be necessary since ther...
